Grand Central Market

In the Heart of DTLA lies a true gem Grand Central Market. Around since 1917 Grand Central Market became home to vendors from all across LA. To this day it continues to grow, surrounded by cultural districts such as Chinatown, and Olvera St it has come to accommodate cuisine from all the different groups that inhabit LA, while continuing to welcome the new. With restaurants such as “Eggslut”, “Horse Thief BBQ”, and “Press Brothers Juicery” Grand Central Market is a place that brings the new and old, cultural and traditional, cuisine continually being a rest stop for all the different parts of LA. Grand Central Market is open 8 am to 10 pm all 7 days a week. Make sure to check it out!

 

Getty Villa

In the hills of Malibu, just off PCH, overlooking the ocean lies the Getty Villa a branch of the famed Getty Center, fashioned as an ancient Roman Country House. The Getty Villa is home to beautiful symmetrical gardens, impeccable architecture and while being a tasteful case for history is also home to ancient Roman artifacts and features relevant and interesting exhibitions,  all the while sitting with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The Getty Villa also offers tea time Thursdays and Saturdays at 1 pm that offers an extended experience of dining and simply relaxing as you take in the view and sun. The Villa is open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays, and 10am to 9pm on Saturdays remaining closed on Tuesdays.

Chinatown Summer Nights

If you’re in LA for the summer be sure to checkout the seasonal Chinatown Summer Nights. On June 30th, July 28th, and August 25th get ready for a fun night. With shops and buildings lit up in neon, great sounds provided by KCRW, eating contests, cuisine demonstrations, fruit carving, performances, food trucks,Dancing Lions and more Chinatown Summer Nights is an event you’ll surely not want to miss. Events start at 5pm and typically end at 10pm so make sure to arrive early for parking and to experience all the fun.

 

Smorgasburg LA

Like to eat? Make sure you checkout LA’s branch of Smorgasburg a weekly food market held every Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Grab a bite to eat from some of the newest tastiest food vendors trucks and trendy bars from the LA area. Vendors such as “Kogi taqueria” and “Cheezus” are regulars. Smorgasburg has a new line up of vendors almost every week allowing you to try all the coolest and most “instagrammable” food from LA in one stop. If your looking for more than just food Smorgasburg’s got that too with stands selling jewelry accessories making balloon pets and more, plus parking is free and close by. Make sure to check it out.
