Chocolate + Coffee : Health Food?
Neither chocolate nor coffee is considered particularly healthy, but many recent studies support that both coffee and chocolate can actually be very beneficial to your health. Why has scientific opinion changed on these common treats?

Chocolate is also a huge mood booster, and regular dark chocolate eaters even have lower rates of depression than the general public!
Chocolate also gives many of the known benefits of coffee because it contains trace mounts of caffeine as well as larger amounts of theobromine, a byproduct of caffeine metabolism. There is a slight possibly confusing point about Theobromine that might need clarification. It’s not in cacao as a byproduct of Caffeine metabolism, (although in the body it certainly is and somewhat visa-versa Theobromine reappears as caffeine on it’s “Half-Life” in the liver and both can wake you up hours later!), rather it’s there preformed in cacao and in approximately 10 to 1 ratios to caffeine. So being a potent vasodilator it helps counter the “fight or flight” effects of caffeine on some people.
